The Austin Township Budget Settlement Board Meeting was called to order at 7:35 p.m. on March 31, 2009 by Supervisor Kenneth Vredenburg at the Township Hall at 14132 Pierce Rd, Stanwood, Michigan. Members present: Kenn Vredenburg, Elizabeth Carr, and John Brockway. Others present were Helen Burden-Deputy Treasurer and Gordon Burden.

 

Public Comment: None

 

Motion was made by Kenn Vredenburg and supported by John Brockway to amend the budget as follows: add $300.00 to 209-727 Assessor Office Supplies, add $100.00 to215-961 Clerk’s mileage, and $100.00 to 253-870 Treasurer’s mileage and to take the total amount of $500.00 out of 925-955 Miscellaneous. Motion carried.

 

Motion was made by John Brockway and supported by Kenn Vredenburg to approve and pay the bills. Motion carried.

 

Motion was made by Kenn Vredenburg and supported by John Brockway to amend the Cemetery budget as follows: to subtract $50.00 from 276-955 Miscellaneous and to add it to 276—920 Utilities.

 

First Responders-Helen has $5,074.74 to put in a CD for the First Responders and a total of $4,561.56, which is $1,061.56 per run money and $3,500.00 from Mecosta County, to put in their account to start the 2009-2010 budget year. The Fire Department will have $7,214.56 to put in their CD.

 

The Treasurer’s Report-Helen reported that $91,162.02 was deposited in the general fund checking account for Austin Township. This amount includes the taxes, administration fee and interest and the dog collection fees

 

Resolution 2009-04 was made on March 31, 2009 to allow Deputy Treasurer Helen Burden the authority to open such bank accounts, and cash and deposit checks as is necessary for the function of Austin Township, Mecosta Austin Fire Department, Mecosta Austin First Responders, and Mecosta Austin Cemetery during the absence of Treasurer Carolyn Towsley.
