Unfinished Business:

1. Fire Department and First Responder Report: There has been no decision made on high speed internet for the Fire Department. They have sold the 6x6. The alternator and flex pipe needed to be replaced on the new truck. The Fire Board has approved to paint the new truck. The department will be selling the pump, tank, and reels from the old truck. After comparing prices with other companies, the Fire Board decided to stay with Holtons for the upcoming year. We still have a $360.00 credit with them from last year. We would like to buy our own fuel tank as that would give us more flexibility to choose the least expensive fuel in the future. The Fire Chief reported 14 runs. There is one new fire fighter. We sold the old International Tanker. The Pancake Breakfast will be the week after Labor Day on September 11, 2011. The Pig Roast will be during Fire Week in October.

2. Supervisor/Assessor: The review of the Assessor’s office went well as far as I know. He did not bring up any issues. Verizon has picked three possible sites in our area for their new towers. There have been no permits pulled or contracts signed yet.

3. Treasurer’s Report: 480 taxes have been paid with 15% of the money paid in. That is ahead of where we were last year at this time.

4. Clerk’s Report: MTA has withdrawn their Workman’s Comp Plan they were trying to get started. A copy of everyone’s computer password should be kept in the safe in the event of an emergency. Moved by Carolyn Towsley, supported by John Conforte to send the Clerk and

the Deputy Clerk, if she is available, to the Township Clerk’s Professional Retreat. Motion carried.

5. Roads: Moved by Carolyn Towsley, supported by John Conforte to spend up to 7500.00 with Michigan Chloride Sales to brine approximately 20 miles of gravel road in Austin Township. Motion carried.

6. LP: Moved by John Brockway, supported by Carolyn Towsley to choose the pre-pay program with Holtons LP for the Township. The estimated cost is $3796.00. Motion carried.

7. ORV: Moved by Elizabeth G. Carr, supported by Carolyn Towsley to write a letter of support from the Township for the new Off Road Vehicle Legislation. Motion carried.

8. FYI Recycle: Morton Township will be offering recycling every Saturday instead of once per month. They are working with a new company now. Your items don’t have to be pre-sorted with this company. Recycling will take place every Saturday from 9 –12.

9. Millage: The Township will vote next month on collecting their mil and a quarter.

10. Tulleymore Golf Course: Moved by Kenn Vredenburg, supported by Carolyn Towsley to accept the proposed settlement Docket #366616 with true cash value to be $867,000.00 for the years in question. Motion carried.
