Public Comment: Art Adelman-the millage (EMS- .2 and First Responder- .1) was approved by resolution.

Minutes: Moved by John Conforte, supported by John Brockway to accept the minutes as presented. Motion carried.

Finance Report: The last day to pay taxes at the Township is September 16, 2013. 52% of tax payers have paid 59% of taxes that are due. Report accepted subject to audit.

Payment of the Bills: Moved by John Brockway, supported by John Conforte, to pay Township check #’s 8064-8081. Check #’s 8073 and 8075 were avoided. Also to pay Cemetery check #’s 1490-1491. Presented for review: Fire Department check #’s 4803-4808 and First Responder check #’s 1375-1377. Motion carried.

Unfinished Business:

1. Fire Department and First Responder Report: The next Fire Board Meeting will be September 19, 2013 at 7 p.m. at the Fire Hall.

2. Assessor’s and Supervisor’s Report: The L-4029 is prepared and signed.

3. Treasurer’s Report: As mentioned above the last day to pay taxes is September 16, 2013.

4. Clerk’s Report: The only issue to be voted on in the November Election is the Morley Stanwood School millage. In order to simplify the election, there will be some consolidated precincts. Aetna/ Big Prairie, Austin/Colfax, Deerfield/Winfield, and Mecosta/Big Rapids/Goodwell. The County Clerk will handle the notices for the Pioneer, order supply kits, program and order the ballots, and submit the final billing to the school. I have an appointment with Lois Skiera for September 27, 2013. She has agreed to provide quarterly assistance with the check register. Her charge is $35.00 for the quarterly reports and she will bill us accordingly if the check register costs her extra time.

New Business:

1. Propane: Moved by Kenneth Vredenburg, supported by John Brockway to discontinue using Amerigas (Holton’s), and to procure our propane from Tri-County. They are offering a corporate rate of $1.64/gallon with a two year contract. Motion carried.
